Dr. Gurjit S Bhatia, Ph.D. in Geology

A highly experienced and accomplished Geologist with successful career spanning over 4 decades in Mineral and Fossil Fuel Exploration with leading coal exploration and mining companies. Demonstrated skills in designing and implementation of large multidisciplinary coal exploration programmes for subsidiary companies of Coal India Limited, Indian private sector, Indonesia and Australia. Dr. Bhaita worked in CMPDI, Central Govt. PSU, India’s largest consultancy organization and the market leader in expanding earth resource sector for 30 years. He worked for 1 year in JSW Steel as Executive Director and later for 10 years with Adani Group in the capacity of Joint President. He steered the Mineral Resource division and provided assistance in selection of suitable coal blocks for participation in the bidding process, exploration and mining of such coal blocks. Dr. Bhatia’s core competences include Geological mapping and preparation of comprehensive geological reports, management of large exploration projects, designing and implementation of coal exploration programs, technical due diligence of mineral and coal concessions, resource optimization, laisoning, assistance in mine planning and mine feasibility studies. Presently working as Sr. Consultant, Geology & Exploration for all geological segments and exploration for Matrix Mining Solutions Private Limited.

Mr. Ramesh Khanna, B.Sc.-(Mining),A.I.S.M.

Worked in large underground and open cast mines in various subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd for 37 years. Has experience in management of coal washeries of Bharat Coking Coal Ltd. as chief of washery:1997-2002. After superannuation in 2002 from CIL, worked with Aryan Coal Beneficiation Pvt. Ltd.(ACB India Ltd.) and was mainly engaged in setting up and operation of the washeries. The capacity increased from 2.5MTPA to 50 MTPA during the period and retired as President (washery division) in 2013. The locations of washeries-

• Panderpauni,Gauri & Wani in Maharashtra
• Talcher and Himgir in Odisha
• Ramagundam in Telangana

Was also instrumental in initiating BOM Contracts which were also won by ACB from various subsidiaries of Coal India like- Dahibari, Patherdih and Vasundhra etc. Presently working as Sr. Consultant, Mining/Washery division of Matrix Mining Solutions Private Limited.

Mr.Sushil Behl:- (MBA in Finance)

He has a large experience of about 37 yrs. with Coal India Ltd. at different managerial & finance discipline including Board level position & retired as a Director (Finance) of WCL. Expert in Corporate Finance, Law & taxation, budgetary control/coal pricing mechanisms. He has International exposure in Merger & Acquisition and International trade. He extensively worked in assessing the Mine Economics in the Feasibility Report of coal blocks and Coal Videsh Division of CIL. Post retirement he is a Govt. nominee on Central Council of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India , Independent Director & Advisor of KG Somani & Co. Chartered Accountants. Presently working as a consultant in Mine Economics of Matrix Mining Solutions Private Limited.

Mr.S.R.Singh :- B.Sc.(Hons.) in Mining

He has a professional experience with 37 yrs’ in Indian Coal Industry, having vast experience in managing/leading multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists in identifying, planning, designing & implementing programs/projects in the areas of coal exploration, coal resource development, environmental management in mining areas, role of CSR in the changing scenario, and institutional capacity building. Experience in Development of Underground and Opencast mines with overburden disposal ,Land acquisition and statuary analysis, Preparation of Feasibility reports, Detailed Project Reports, Mining Plan ,Project evaluation, contract management & bidding for coal exploration and coal development projects, Safety & Conservation of coal mining land reclamation, well conversant of coal evacuation system, Strategic planning of infrastructure for coal mining industry to secure its sustainable growth and economic infrastructure, EIA & EMP of mining projects. Presently working as a consultant in Planning & Designing of Mines for Matrix Mining Solutions Private Limited.

Nagavalli Venu Kumar

A seasoned professional with 30 years of rich experience in the areas of Project Development ,Exploration, Mine Planning , Operation , EHS Management. Expertise in handling the complete project operations entailing planning, resource utilization ,maintenance & manpower management. Well versed with the technologies such as Shovel-Dumper & Dragline combined Mining system. Sound knowledge of environment ,with proven ability in implementing plans. Well versed with development of unit cost estimates, Adept in preparing of base plans for various stages in mining.

Mr. Gudla Venkata Rao, B.Sc. Engg. (Electrical)

Worked in Coal India for 35 years which includes designing of CHP/Washeries in CMPDIL, Construction of Kedla washery and as head of Piparwar washery for over 9 years. Worked as Vice President and Head of Engineering Services & Design at Adani Enterprises Limited. Also involved in concept to commissioning of Engg. Services like Power supply, Pumping, coal handling and washeries in line with production plan for the Mining projects. Key achievements : Feasibility and detailed project Reports for CHP & Washery plants for Parsa East Kanta Basan (15 MTPA), Machhakata (50 MTPA) & Chhendiapa 40 MTPA. Successfully designed, installed and commissioned 15 MTPA CHP & 10 MTPA Washery. Basic designing, CAPEX & OPEX estimates for bidding in contracts of MDO of NTPC, State PSU Coal Blocks.Presently working as Consultant for all Engineering Activities for Matrix Mining Solutions Private Limited.

Mr. Ujjal Kumar Kothari, M.Sc.(Commerce)

Joined Coal Industry in 1972 and worked for 34 Years in various capacities as material manager, Deputy Chief Materials Manager, Chief Materials Manger in Eastern Coal Fields Ltd , Northern Coalfields Ltd, Bharat Cooking Coal Ltd and Finally retired as Chief General Manager (M.M) from South Eastern Coalfields ltd Bilaspur on 31st May 2006,the details of which are as follows . Handled independently all functions of Materials Management Department viz Stores Management, Inventory Control procurement at Subsidiary level, contracts at corporate level i.e. both at Head Quarter and Coal India level. Having good knowledge of Contract Management . Has worked in Adani Enterprises as head Techno Commercial for 6 years.Presently working as Sr. Consultant of commercial matters for Matrix Mining Solutions Private Limited.

Mr. Naresh Mohan Sharma, B.E. (Civil)

Involved in the biggest projects like Gevra, Dipika & Manikpur and under taken the construction of CHP ,Highway roads, work shop & its maintenance. Also involved in CSR activities including construction of resettlement ,shifting of PAP`s. Taken voluntary retirement to join Adani Enterprise Ltd. in the year 2008. And have been the main strength of organization in starting of Parsa Kente Coal Project of 10 MTPA. He was totally involved in land acquisition, Forest Clearance, Environment Clearance, Rehabilitation & shifting of PAP`s. In addition also contributed in construction of CHP as well as Coal Washery of 10 MTPA.His expertise in land acquisition, Forest Clearance, Environment Clearance, Rehabilitation & Resettlement besides all as Civil Engineering issues are being utilized by Matrix Mining Solutions as Consultant, Civil Engineer/R&R & CSR division.

Mr. M. Satyamurty, B.Tech(Hons)(Mining), M.Tech (Opencast Mining)

An eminent mining engineer with 40 years of working experience in various fields, namely; mine operation, mine planning and design, project appraisal and evaluation for investment decision, national energy policy, formulation of long term and short term plan for energy sector in the country, occupational safety and health for mine workers, prevention of silicosis, development of legislation and crisis management. He acquired and applied relevant skills and expertise while working with Coal India Limited (CCL/ CMPDI) and Government of India (Ministry of Coal/ Planning Commission/ Ministry of Labour and Employment/ Directorate General of Mines Safety). He is an expert on policies and regulatory framework governing mines and minerals including energy minerals in addition to having in-depth knowledge of various mining technologies and associated systems. He is presently working as Vice President in Matrix Mining Solutions Private Limited and a key resource person with the Independent Engineer.
